Credits & billing

Vexel is paid in credits: one unit for every model and for the Director. Plans include credits every month, packs top you up, and every job is quoted before it runs.

Plans and packsLink to Plans and packs

  • Plans: Free, Basic, Pro and Max, monthly or yearly, plus Enterprise on request. Current prices and included credits are on the Pricing page.
  • Free includes a one-time grant of credits when you create your studio. No card is needed.
  • Yearly plans grant their credits month by month.
  • Credit packs (Starter, Standard, Studio and Bulk) are one-time purchases, credited as soon as the payment succeeds.
  • Prices are in euros. Payments run through Stripe’s hosted checkout.

How a job is chargedLink to How a job is charged

  1. Quote

Before a job runs you see its price in credits, worked out from the provider’s real price for that model and those settings.

  2. Hold

When the job starts, the quote plus 10 % is held from your balance. If the balance is too low, the job does not start. A batch is checked as a whole before any of it starts.

  3. Settle

When the job finishes it is charged its actual cost, never more than the hold, and the rest of the hold is returned.

  4. Release

If the job fails or you cancel it, the whole hold is returned. Failed generations cost nothing.

Director turns are metered by the tokens they use, with the same hold-and-settle rule (at least 1 credit a turn, a hold of up to 100). See The Director.

Your balanceLink to Your balance

Your balance is the sum of every credit movement on your studio: grants, purchases, holds, settlements and refunds. Nothing is ever edited in place; a correction is a new entry. The credit meter in the app shows the balance.

Changing or cancelling a planLink to Changing or cancelling a plan

  • Upgrade, change cards or cancel from Settings → Billing, which opens Stripe’s customer portal.
  • A plan change is prorated by Stripe, and the credits follow the prorated amount once the invoice is paid.
  • A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for.
  • If a payment is refunded, the credits it bought are removed in proportion.
