Account and access

MCP & API accessBeta

The Director works through the Vexel MCP server, and the same tools are open to your own MCP clients, such as Claude Code or Cursor. Everything the Director can do, a tool can do.

AvailabilityLink to Availability

MCP and API access is part of the Pro and Max plans. Tool calls that generate are quoted and billed like the same action in the app; your own client’s model tokens are paid by you, not in credits.

Connect Claude CodeLink to Connect Claude Code

The endpoint is /api/mcp on your Vexel address, over Streamable HTTP. Add it to Claude Code:

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http vexel https://<your Vexel address>/api/mcp
  1. Authenticate

In Claude Code run /mcp, choose vexel and Authenticate. Your browser opens.

  2. Sign in and allow

Sign in to Vexel if needed. The consent page shows the client, your account and what it may do; choose Allow access.

  3. Check the connection

Back in the terminal, claude mcp list shows vexel as connected.

Other MCP clients that speak Streamable HTTP connect to the same URL.

What a client can doLink to What a client can do

Scopes
ScopeAllows
project:readRead projects, scripts, assets, shots, timelines, renders and exports
project:writeCreate and edit projects, shots, assets, timelines; queue renders and exports
generateStart paid jobs: shots, pencil sketches, reference images
billing:readRead your credit balance and history

A client connected by signing in gets project read and write and billing read, but not generate: it cannot spend credits yet. A tool outside a client’s scopes is hidden from its tool list.
