A music video project starts from the song: its bars, sections and lyrics shape the shot list, the takes are driven by the track, and the cut lands on the beat.
Before you startLink to Before you start
Create a Music video project and add the song in the Assets tab’s Song slot. Its checkpoints are treatment, animatic, render plan and cut.
The song panelLink to The song panel
The Script tab of a music video shows the song: waveform, bar ruler and beat grid, sections and lyric lines, with playback and zoom.
- Song analysis separates stems and finds beats, downbeats, sections, key and word-timed lyrics. Lyrics you paste steer the alignment. The panel follows the analysis live; Re-analyze runs it again.
- Without an analysis you can sketch the map yourself: set the BPM or tap the tempo, and paste the lyrics.
Shots on the barsLink to Shots on the bars
- Board shots turns the song into storyboard rows: cut density follows each section’s energy and every shot lasts whole bars.
- Sung lines become performance shots, flagged for lip-sync and framed facing camera; narrative shots go between them. Lyrics are never written into the prompt text.
- The Storyboard shows each shot’s section, bars, lip-sync badge and lyric line, with a bar ruler and lyric lane above the board. Cuts that fell off the bar lines are marked.
- Snap to bars puts the cuts back on the bars and keeps locked shots where they are.
Takes driven by the trackLink to Takes driven by the track
- Each song shot is generated with its slice of the track as the model’s audio reference: the vocal stem for sung lines, the full mix otherwise.
- Takes are rendered at least as long as their slot, with handles for dissolves between sections.
Lip-sync passLink to Lip-sync pass
Turn on lip-sync for a performance shot in the Shots tab, or run the pass on a take. Sync Labs react-1 handles lines up to 15 seconds and lipsync-2 longer ones. The pass is quoted first, uses the same vocal slice, and its result becomes the shot’s next take. An armed shot runs its pass by itself when its take lands.
The cut on the songLink to The cut on the song
Assembling a music video lays the song on A1 and every take on its bar lines, snapped to downbeats, with optional dissolves at section changes.
Vertical and Spotify CanvasLink to Vertical and Spotify Canvas
- A vertical 9:16 master re-frames the cut with a subject-aware or centre crop. Adopt the automatic framing onto the timeline and adjust it clip by clip.
- A Spotify Canvas export cuts a 3–8 second silent 9:16 loop (seamless, hard cut or rebound) from the timeline, with a pre-flight check for cuts under a second and lip-sync shots in range.
